Top Winter Wonderland Attractions in London This December 2015

Winter WonderlandEach and every November, the 350 magnificent acres of London’s Hyde Park transform from woodlands and monuments into a vibrant village of festive activity, with the magic of the season spreading good tidings and beautiful snow-covered scenery across one of the most well-known of London Borough’s eight Royal Parks.

If you’ve ever visited before, you’ll know all too well why those behind the transformation call it Winter Wonderland. If you’ve not, the team here at Smart City definitely recommend you see it for yourself.

Open every day until January 3rd, (except for Christmas Day) from 10am to 10pm, the Winter Wonderland extravaganza is easily accessible via tube from our serviced apartments in Canary Wharf, Oxford Street and City Road, as well as our locations in other prime Central London areas.

When you do get there, you’ll be treated to a seemingly never-ending festive feast of things to see and do. With that in mind, we asked our team to choose their recommendations for the top Winter Wonderland attractions in London’s Hyde Park, all so that you can really make the most of your time there when you come to visit us this December 2015.

Magical Ice KingdomMagical Ice Kingdom

An experience like nothing else you’ll enjoy this winter, the Magical Ice Kingdom offers a breathtaking journey through a fantasy-filled land of beautiful ice sculptures, snow paths and fairytale charms aplenty.

We do recommend wrapping up warm for this one though, as temperatures are kept at a chilly minus two in order to preserve the magic of this one-of-a-kind attraction.

Ski Zillertal Ice Rink

There’s nothing quite as special as gliding around a beautiful ice rink in the open winter air, and though there’s plenty of places to skate around London this Christmas, few make it quite so enjoyable as Winter Wonderland’s Ski Zillertal Ice Rink.

Set around a gorgeous Victorian bandstand, Zillertal sessions last 50 minutes at a time, and there’s even a professional photographer on hand for those perfect souvenir photos.

Giant Observation WheelGiant Observation Wheel

Board the giant wheel and take a flight all the way up to sixty metres above the ground, where you’ll enjoy stunning 360 degree panoramic views stretching all the way through Hyde Park and across London itself. Our Smart City guests who’ve already experienced the wheel tell us that if you look close enough from the comfort of your pod, you can see even see our serviced apartments in Covent Garden and Moorgate.

Zippos Circus

After an exciting -and undoubtedly exhausting day- put your feet up and let the Zippos Family Circus and entertain you and your young ones with a delightfully colourful and enjoyable performance.

For the big kids at heart, Circus Beserk’s adrenaline-fuelled stunt show is definitely a must-see too.
