To mark 40 years at their South Kensington address, Christies are hosting a series of special events on the first Tuesday of every month.

Sunlight and Storm Clouds
Friday, January 13th,
Southbank Centre, SE1 8XX
Could there be any more perfect a way to start the new year than with a rousing performance of classical music?
We didn’t think so either, which is why we’re so looking forward to making the 15 minute journey from our London Bridge apartments to the iconic Southbank Centre later this month for the venue’s 2016/2017 classical season.
A highlight of this year’s season, Sunlight and Storm Clouds sees violinist Ray Chen and conductor Manfred Honeck lead the London Philharmonic Orchestra in a dramatic performance of Johannes Brahms’ Symphony No.1 and Violin Concerto in D.

Various locations across London
Wednesday, January 25th
The annual celebration in honour of legendary poet Robert Burns is almost as popular here in the capital as it is in the bard’s native Scotland. On January 25th, Scots living in -and visiting- London will gather together to pay tribute to the man who gave the world Auld Lang Syne with a traditional Burns Supper.
There’ll be plenty of bagpipe playing, poetry reading, and Scottish dancing at events taking place right across London, many of which you can find in our recent guide to the top five places to celebrate Burns Night 2017 in Central London.
Chinese New Year in London
Trafalgar Square, WC2N 5DN
Saturday, January 28th – Sunday, January 29th
With the exception of the East Asian nation itself of course, nobody does Chinese New Year quite like London.
Whilst the day itself actually falls on the 28th, London’s celebrations take place the following day. An incredible sight to behold, giant Chinese dragons and intricately decorated lanterns lead the way as the Chinese New Year parade works its way throughout the West End.
For the best views, take the tube from London Bridge Station to Trafalgar Square. It’s here where said parade eventually ends with a host of live entertainment, including dancers, acrobats, and martial artists.
The whole thing culminates later that evening with an elaborate fireworks display and Grand Finale performance.
Other Chinese New Year events are set to take place across the capital throughout the two days.
